Our Mission

Did you know plastic straws are bad for the environment? Did you know paper straws are better for the environment? Did you know every plastic straw you use contributes to the waste in the world? It is estimated that we use over 500 million plastic straws each day. Plastic straws are so lightweight that they sometimes don't make it through the mechanical recycling sorter, and could end up in our oceans. What happens to it once it's in the ocean? Well first the ocean will break it down into smaller and smaller pieces called micro plastics rather then dissolving or biodegrading like paper straws. Then, animals may mistake it for their food such as crayfish or shrimp. Plastic is not good for animals! If other animals eat those animals and we eat those animals and so on so on, plastics could even enter our food chain. Our mission is to eliminate the amount of plastics in the ocean. You can help us keep our oceans a clean and healthy environment by joining the fight against plastic straws.
